Psychological Services

The services that you/your child will be accessing are provided by Psychologists who hold registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA). As a part of your treatment you are required to provide personal information that is relevant to your current situation.

  • Storage of Information, Confidentiality and Privacy

You or your child’s personal information is gathered as part of your assessment, diagnosis and treatment and is stored securely, with access only by your Psychologist. Identifying and contact information only, such as name, phone number, email will be collected and accessible to administrative staff. All personal information, and session content will remain confidential unless;

  1. The information is subpoenaed by the court.
  2. Failure to share the information would place you or another person at serious risk.
  3. Your consent to do so has been obtained.

Also note that Psychologists are Mandatory Reporters and are required to report cases, or suspected cases of child abuse and neglect.

  • Consent to Exchange Information

During the course of treatment it may be beneficial for your Psychologist to liaise with other professionals or agencies. Additional consent forms will be requested in this instance.

As part of the Medicare Better Access program, if you are currently engaged under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) Medicare requires your Psychologist to submit a brief report to your GP during the course of your treatment to ensure you receive a rebate. Please note that the signing of this document acknowledges your consent to provide this report.
